This 1966 Porsche 912 is said to have spent time in Texas before it was acquired by the seller in 2010. The car is finished in red over black leatherette upholstery with Pepita seat inserts and is powered by a replacement 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. An electronic ignition and electric fuel pump were installed under the seller’s ownership, and a pair of Weber carburetors were fitted approximately two years ago. Rust is noted on the body, floor pans, battery tray, and underside, the left-front brake leaks, and low compression is noted on the #3 cylinder.
Delivered from the factory in Gulf Blue (6603), the car was finished in its current red under previous ownership. Features include chrome bumperettes, a driver-side mirror, and a retractable antenna. There are scratches and dents on the body, areas of blue paint visible, and rust on the left fender and passenger door.
The Fuchs wheels are mounted with Pirelli and Riken tires. A steel spare wheel with an older tire is mounted in the front trunk. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs, and a fluid leak is noted from the left-front line.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black leatherette with Pepita inserts as well as a matching dashboard and door panels and salt-and-pepper carpets. A cassette player is fitted in the dash. Rust is noted in the floors, and a patch is noted underneath the pedal box.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel is missing its center cap and frames VDO green-letter instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, a 120-mph speedometer, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows under 80k miles.
The replacement 1.6-liter flat-four was installed under the seller’s ownership along with electronic ignition, and dual Weber carburetors were fitted approximately two years ago. Low compression is noted on the #3 cylinder, and the carburetors will need adjustment according to the seller.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transaxle. An electric fuel pump was added under current ownership.
