This 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 is finished in black over gray upholstery and is powered by a 1.9-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The seller reportedly purchased it in 2014 from the nephew of its original owner, who is said to have imported the car from Germany when new. The engine was replaced and a repaint was completed during prior ownership, while work following the seller’s acquisition is said to have included rust repair and re-trimming the interior.
The body was repainted during prior ownership according to the seller and features fog lights, fender-mounted lenses, and reflectors mounted to the rear bumper overriders. Per the seller, rust remediation was performed on the floor pans.
Steel 13″ wheels feature polished covers with body-color accents and wear a combination of Cooper and BFGoodrich tires. A matching spare fitted with a Riken tire is stored in the trunk. A spare set of uninstalled wheel covers is included in the sale.
The cabin features gray seat upholstery that was installed during current ownership, and the dashboard was retrimmed with color-coordinated vinyl. Additional features include a VDO clock, fresh air vent controls, and lap belts for the front and rear occupants. A spare ivory-colored steering wheel is included in the sale.
The car is equipped with a two-spoke steering wheel with a perforated wrap and a separate horn ring, and the four-speed manual transmission is shifted from the column. Instrumentation includes a 100-mph VDO speedometer flanked by a quartet of auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 52k miles.
The replacement 1.9-liter inline-four features a single carburetor and was installed during prior ownership. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and an oil change was conducted in February 2021. The seller notes the engine burns oil, and the carburetor requires servicing. A rebuild kit is included in the sale.
