This 1947 Studebaker M5 pickup was owned by actor Don Johnson from 1988 through 2003 and was acquired by the seller in 2017. The truck is finished in beige over a black interior and is powered by a 170ci inline-six paired with a replacement column-shifted three-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Other equipment includes red-finished 16″ steel wheels, hubcaps, driving lights, chrome bumpers, wood bed-side rails, and an aftermarket tachometer. Work since 2020 is said to have included rebuilding the radiator and replacing the tires.
The truck is said to have been refinished in beige as a part of a refurbishment that occurred during previous ownership. Features include bumper-mounted driving lights, LED taillights, dual side mirrors, and chrome bumpers and trim.
The bed sides are topped by wooden rails, and wood planks make up part of the bed floor. The seller notes that the exterior wood exhibits wear.

The two-spoke steering wheel is cracked and wears a black wrap. A body-color steel dashboard with maroon trim houses instrumentation including a horizontal 100-mph speedometer. An aftermarket tachometer is affixed to the steering column, and auxiliary gauges have been added beneath the dashboard. The five-digit odometer indicates 60k miles.
The 170ci L-head Champion inline-six has been rebuilt and features a single carburetor. A three-speed manual transmission with overdrive is said to have been sourced from a 1956 Studebaker one-ton truck and installed under current ownership. The radiator was rebuilt within the past year, and the truck has been converted to a 12-volt electrical system.
