The car was delivered new in Fathom Blue (EE), and the color was changed by a previous owner. Under the seller’s ownership the exterior was returned to blue with a white nose stripe that extends along the lower portions of each side of the car.
Slotted 15″ steel wheels wear Chevy-logo hubcaps and trim rings, and they are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The seller notes that power steering and power-assisted front disc brakes have been added.
The car received bucket seats in blue vinyl (774) from the factory, and the interior was redone in blue under current ownership. A digital retro-style radio with an auxiliary input is mounted in the factory location, and the Muncie shift lever utilizes a round white knob.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm roller tachometer, and an analog clock surrounded by auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 37k miles. True mileage is unknown.
The 396ci V8 is said to have been rebuilt by Carl McQuillen Engines Inc of LeRoy, New York.
The engine-pad stamping ends in 18B124054, matching the final characters of the car’s serial number. The stamping suffix on the opposite side of the pad shows EG, which is consistent with a 396 V8 rated at 375 horsepower planned for use in a 1968 model with a four-barrel carburetor and a manual gearbox. The same sequence—18B124054—is stamped into the transmission.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Muncie four-speed manual transmission, and the seller states that the 12-bolt rear end has a limited-slip differential.
