Work on this 1986 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16 included the addition of over-the-top stripes, lowering springs, 17″ ESR modular wheels, and replacement front seat upholstery. Powered by a 2.3-liter inline-four paired with a dogleg five-speed manual transmission, the car shows 107k miles and is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic over black leather upholstery. It has a limited-slip differential, an electric sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, cruise control, automatic climate control, and a Bluetooth-capable Alpine head unit linked with a trunk-mounted subwoofer.
The car is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) and features a body-color front air dam, side skirts, wheel-arch flares, and trunk spoiler with an integrated third brake light as well as integrated fog lights, an electric sunroof, and asymmetrical side mirrors.
The 17″ ESR modular wheels feature black centers and are mounted with 215/45 front and 225/45 rear Pirelli P Zero tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs with ABS.
The bolstered power-adjustable sport seats have been reupholstered in black leather, and they are complemented by color-coordinated interior panels and carpets. Amenities include cruise control, a driver-side airbag, driver-seat memory settings, power windows, and a Bluetooth-capable Alpine stereo head unit linked with a trunk-mounted JL Audio subwoofer. The VDO digital lap timer was replaced in September 2016. The air-conditioning system has been converted to R134a refrigerant and the system was recently serviced.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and instant fuel economy. Auxiliary gauges located in the center stack display oil temperature and voltage.
The 2.3-liter M102 inline-four was designed in collaboration with Cosworth and was factory rated at 167 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. The timing chain was replaced at approximately 91k miles, and work completed in September 2016 included replacing the drive belt tensioner, serpentine belt, fuel injectors, and fuel injection rail seals.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Getrag five-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. The clutch was replaced at approximately 86k miles.
Two tool rolls, a set of Mercedes-Benz-branded all-weather floor mats, a set of carpeted floor mats, two keys, and the removed stock springs and wheels are included in the sale. Service records dating back to 2010 will also accompany the car.
