This 1963 Daimler SP250 is a right-hand-drive example that was refurbished approximately 20 years ago. It is finished in yellow over black upholstery and is powered by a 2.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was acquired in 2020 by the seller, who has since reportedly had the starter and carburetors rebuilt, the hubcaps re-chromed, and the soft top, tires, ball joints, tie rods, taillight covers, and door seals replaced. The fiberglass body was repainted Corvette Yellow approximately 20 years ago, and the seller states that a replacement black soft top was installed within the last year. Exterior features include chrome-finished bumpers, dual exhaust outlets, and replacement taillight covers. A tonneau cover is included in the sale.
Black 15″ steel wheels wear re-chromed hubcaps and 165/80 Invovic EL318 tires that the seller states were installed within the last year. Additional maintenance carried out under current ownership is said to have included replacing the tie rods and ball joints. Rack-and-pinion steering was added under previous ownership.
The right-hand-drive cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in replacement black vinyl with yellow piping along with matching door panels and black carpets. Equipment includes a lockable glovebox, door-mounted map pockets, front lap belts, a floor-mounted shifter, and replacement door seals.
The banjo-style steering wheel is fitted with an aftermarket cover and frames a 140-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for fuel level, water temperature, oil pressure, and amperage are present in the center stack. The seller states that the fuel-level gauge is inaccurate. The five-digit odometer shows 2k miles, 1k of which were added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
The 2.5-liter V8 features hemispherical combustion chambers and produced 140 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque when new. Equipment includes aluminum-alloy cylinder heads and twin SU carburetors, the latter of which were reportedly rebuilt since the seller’s purchase. Additional work performed in that time is said to have included rebuilding the starter motor, and an electric cooling fan was installed under previous ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission that features a non-synchro first gear.
