This 1963 Ford Thunderbird is finished in Tucson Yellow over a black interior and is powered by a 390ci V8 featuring triple carburetors. The car left the factory as a 76A Convertible model and was reportedly refurbished in the 1980s in the style of a 76B Sports Roadster. Shifting is through a Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission, and additional equipment includes a power-operated black soft top, a fiberglass tonneau cover, air conditioning, a push-button radio, brushed aluminum and chrome interior trim, front bucket seats, and 14″ wire wheels. Service completed in 2020 is said to have included replacement of the battery and exhaust manifold gaskets as well as oil, filter, and coolant changes.
The car left the factory in Tucson Yellow (R) and was reportedly repainted as part of the 1980s refurbishment refurbishment. Features include a black power-operated soft top, a driver-side mirror, a rear deck-mounted antenna, chrome bumpers, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes a ding on the passenger door and various paint blemishes.
Chrome-finished 14″ Kelsey-Hayes wheels wear Goodyear whitewall tires. A full-size spare tire is stored in the trunk, and stopping power is provided by drum brakes at all four corners.
The cabin features seating trimmed in black leather and joined by a matching dashboard, carpets, and door panels along with chrome and brushed aluminum trim. Amenities include air conditioning, a push-button radio, and a lockable center console. A rip is visible in the left door panel armrest.
A Sports Roadster-style fiberglass tonneau cover covers the rear seats when fitted and is included in the sale.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer along with analog clock and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer indicates 3k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added by the seller over the last 10 years. Total mileage is unknown.
The 390ci V8 is equipped with triple carburetors under a single air cleaner. Work performed in 2020 reportedly included installation of a replacement battery and exhaust manifold gaskets along with oil, filter, and coolant changes.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission.
