Finished in red with a white roof and stripes, it is powered by a replacement 402ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and a Positraction rear end. The exterior was originally finished in Cranberry Red (75) according to the chassis tag, and the seller states that the car was repainted in the early 2000s. Features include Vigilite lamp indicators, a contrasting vinyl roof, white stripes, chrome bumpers and trim, SS badging, a cowl-induction hood secured with pins, a heated rear window, and dual exhaust outlets.
SS-style 14″ wheels with polished trim rings are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. A full size spare is located in the trunk, and factory equipment includes power steering, F41 performance suspension, and power-assisted front disc brakes.
The interior features bucket seats, a rear bench, and door panels upholstered in Ivory vinyl (791) along with a black dashboard and carpets. Equipment includes air conditioning, front seat belts with shoulder harnesses, rear lap belts, a center console, and power windows and door locks. The AM/FM radio is currently inoperative.
he three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, an ammeter, and gauges displaying fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer is believed to have rolled over once and currently shows 16k miles, with total mileage unknown.
The replacement 402ci V8 is said to be sourced from a later SS 396, and is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor. The seller reports that HEI ignition components have been installed, as well as a heavy-duty radiator.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed TH-400 automatic transmission and a Positraction differential.
