This 1971 Ford Mustang hardtop is finished in metallic green with silver accents over green vinyl and is powered by a replacement 351ci Windsor V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The car was acquired by the owner in 2013 and was subsequently refurbished with work including rust and dent repairs as well as a repaint. Features include front and rear spoilers, a Mach 1-style hood, a body-colored front bumper, a chrome rear bumper, 15″ Cragar S/S wheels, power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes, power steering, bucket seats, a Custom Autosound USA-230 stereo with auxiliary inputs, and a dual exhaust system. Maintenance since 2020 has consisted of a transmission fluid change and front suspension rebuild.
The car was reportedly refinished metallic dark green (1971 C code) with metallic light pewter accents (1971 V code) under current ownership. Exterior features include a Dual Ram Induction hood, a silver front spoiler and rear wing, dual exhaust outlets with polished Flowmaster tips, a body-colored front bumper, and a chrome rear bumper.
The 15″ Cragar S/S wheels are wrapped in 235/60 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. The front suspension was rebuilt in 2021.
The interior features green vinyl seating with a matching headliner and door panels, along with a black dashboard, center console, and carpets. Additional features include Mustang badging, Pioneer speakers, and a Custom Autosound USA-230 stereo with auxiliary inputs. Recent service includes replacement of the instrument panel bezel and reupholstering the driver’s seat with replacement padding.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, fuel level gauge, and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 17k miles.
The original 302ci V8 was replaced with a 351ci Windsor V8 that was installed by T & P Automotive of San Jose, California in October 2003 at 16k miles shown. An oil change was performed in preparation for sale.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The seller states that the transmission fluid was flushed in 2021, and the factory rear axle is said to be replaced with a Ford 9″ under previous ownership.
