This 1972 Jaguar XKE is a Series III 2+2 coupe that is finished in maroon over black leather and powered by a replacement 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Chrome 15″ wheels with Jaguar hub caps are wrapped in 215/70 Yokohama AVID Touring S tires that show 2020 date codes. The four-wheel disc brakes feature inboard rear rotors, and the seller reports that the master cylinder has been replaced. Three spare wheels are included in the sale.
The four-place cabin features black leather seats trimmed in black Connolly leather along with matching door panels and carpets.
The three-spoke steering wheel has a worn cover and sits ahead of Smiths instruments including a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and ancillary gauges mounted in a central panel. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and indicates 600 miles. The owner has added approximately 25k miles since 1989, and total mileage is unknown.
The 5.3-liter DOHC V12 was reportedly sourced from an XJ12 and installed as part of the aforementioned refurbishment. The seller states that service in 2021 included rebuilding and synchronizing the quad Stromberg carburetors, changing the oil and coolant, and replacing the fuel pump, thermostats, temperature and oil sending units, and filters.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Corrosion is present on the sills and floor panels of the body tub as well as on the trunk floor and undercarriage components.
